Nashoba’s Boys Varsity Lacrosse team won Against Hudson High School last Thursday with a final score of 12-2, starting their season off strong.

The game started off with a Nashoba goal less than a minute into the first quarter by number 26, senior Graham Chapman, starting off his senior year season with a strong and positive attitude. The goal was followed by another scored by number 1, senior captain Bryce Chaput, a little over a minute later. When asked about how he felt after scoring the first goal of his senior season, Chaput told the Chieftain Press that “It felt great, but I wasn’t thinking about it too much because I was just focusing on winning the game and helping the team reach playoffs.” Chaput’s goal was followed shortly after by number 14, Nashoba Junior Luke McConnell. Chaput scored once again with four minutes left in the first quarter, only to be followed by number 7, senior Bennett MacGregor, with only a minute left in the quarter, making the final score for the first 6-0 Nashoba. The beginning of the second was scoreless with both teams playing hard. Half-way through the second quarter, Chaput scored once again to make the score 7-0. A minute later Chaput puts another ball in the back of the net making the end of the first half Nashoba 8 – Hudson 0.

Chaput started off the third quarter by scoring once again 2 minutes in. Number 15, Sophomore Aiden Lee, was the next to score a goal for Nashoba, marking a fantastic start to his varsity career. Hudson managed to score a point with two minutes left in the third quarter, making the score Nashoba 10 – Hudson 1. McConnell answered Hudson’s goal moments later with his second goal of the night, making the final score of the third quarter Nashoba 12- Hudson 1. In the fourth quarter both teams played hard, and while Hudson ended up scoring their second goal of the game, Nashoba came out on top with the final score as Nashoba 12- Hudson 2.

Senior Captain Bryce Chaput told the Chieftain Press “I thought it was a great effort on half of the whole team, it started on the back end with out goalie and defense which enabled our offense to obtain the ball and place it in the back of the net efficiently.”  Chaput played goalie for 6 years before reaching high school, where he began to play midfield and attack-man position. He has been playing varsity for his whole high school career.

Come out and support the boys as they take on Malrboro this week on Thursday, April 12th, at home on the turf at 4:00 pm.
