Green Leaf is a vegan/vegetarian restaurant in Framingham. As a non-vegan/vegetarian, I do not often go to restaurants that do not serve meat, but I decided to give this a chance and I do not regret it. The inside decor is bland and unexciting, but there is great service and food. They also cater to other dietary preferences such as gluten allergies.

The Gobi Manchurian appetizer is chickpea flour-fried cauliflower in spicy sweet tomato sauce with sautéed peppers, onions, and cilantro. This had the perfect balance of spice, salt, and sugar. The cauliflower was delectably crisp and irresistible. It was fragrant, mouth-watering, and definitely my biggest recommendation for anyone looking to go to Green Leaf.

Sesame & Cilantro Rice Vermicelli Salad is rice vermicelli pasta, sliced red peppers, green onion, cilantro, and roasted peanuts served over baby spinach and topped with toasted sesame seeds and Agave Soy Dressing. The serving size was huge, way more than one person could eat. The salad was delicious and refreshing but after a while, you crave something more.

To wash it down, I had a glass of The Heart Beet juice, one of the juices Green Leaf is known for. It is a blend of carrot, orange, apple, beet, and lemon juice. The beet taste is very prominent and may be too much for someone who does not love beets. It is sweet and a bit sour, too, and a nice refresher. It is impossible to not feel healthy after taking a sip of this. It is pretty tasty too, so a win-win!

Overall, somebody looking for a healthy and/or meat-free cafe that does not skip out on taste, or even just someone who wants to try something new, should definitely try out Green Leaf!
