Fall is in the air. Yup. I just opened with that corny statement. But you’re still reading, so let’s roll. And, for the record, that statement was not entirely false. Leaves are changing, the air is regaining its crisp bite, and with all of that comes the essence of autumn culture in New England. Because let’s face it, no one does it better than the Northeast.

A place where clam chowder is a staple, football season is just a given, and we might as well fit in some apple picking on the side. Stuck on ideas for things to do because you feel like you’ve just done it all? Fear not, no need to get those creative juices flowing, because I’ve got your back. You’re welcome.

Honey Pot Hill Orchards is a pick-your-own apple orchard located in Stow. Honestly, this is one of the most obvious fall adventures, but whatever. A day best spent no matter what the weather is worth it. An apple plucked fresh off the tree is one of nature’s best fall treats. Not to mention the scenery. And not only that, Honey Pot also maintains their own farm animals, available for public interaction. Pumpkin picking is also an activity offered to the public. If apple picking wasn’t already on your list, again, you’re welcome.

The Deerfield River, or the Connecticut River, located in northwestern MA, is the perfect place to sit back and relax on a Saturday afternoon to enjoy the foliage. Like I said, no one does fall better than New England. And, it’s free.

So, with all that fall entails, one can only imagine what the season has in store.
