A mix of your Christmas favorites including some classics, some pop, and a little bit more…

  • All I want for Christmas is You -Mariah Carey

This single by Mariah Carey has been a top Christmas anthem for the past 20 years and is a favorite for Christmas lovers of many ages. It captures the spirit of Christmas and is a great song to dance and party to!

  • Christmas Lights-Coldplay

This song by Coldplay is on the newer side and is generally unfamiliar, but tells a story of finding the magic of Christmas even when the weather is anything but Christmas-y. Seems fitting for this Christmas season as it is said to be 61 degrees on Christmas Day!

  • Christmas Pipes-Celtic Women

A classic for those of Irish heritage, Celtic Women can really master anything and their rendition of “Christmas Pipes” is just breathtaking. If you’re looking for a classic hymnal sound, here is the place to look.

  • Let it Snow-Frank Sinatra

This song may be an oldie, but that only makes it sweeter to listen to. Frank Sinatra is a classic artist and his version of “Let it Snow” is by far the best.

  • Santa Baby-Eartha Kitt

Many pop artists have tried to remaster this classic tune, but no one can do it better than Eartha Kitt. She sings the song at a perfect pace; a happy medium between slow and upbeat which makes it a great listen.

  • Snow-Sleeping at Last

This song by Sleeping at Last is a delicate original that not many people are familiar with. Sleeping at Last often does covers of songs by pop artists. The lyrics are very powerful and the melody is so relaxing which makes it a wonderful song to really listen to.

  • Winter Song-Ingrid Michaelson and Sara Bareilles

A modern duet by two well known pop artists. This song features perfect harmonies, blissful dynamics, and sweet but simple lyrics.

  • Winter Wonderland-Colbie Calliat

Everyone knows the song “Winter Wonderland,” but this version by Colbie Calliat adds a new and upbeat twist on the classic. Certainly great for all those who love this pop artist and the original single.

  • Happy Xmas (War is Over)-John Lennon

This song by John Lennon is a great Christmas anthem for everyone out there. The lyrics are both powerful and inspirational, and really makes the listener think about its meaning.

  • Old City Bar or Christmas Canon-Trans Siberian Orchestra

These two songs by the Trans Siberian Orchestra are my personal favorites, but I would highly recommend listening to anything by them. If you are a fan of either songs with lyrics or instrumental music, they have a spectacular mix of both. (And it’s even better if you can go see them live in concert!)

  • Little Saint Nick-Beach Boys

This upbeat hit by the Beach Boys is sure to get you in the Christmas spirit. It is fun, joyful, and a perfect pick me up if you’re feeling down.

  • Believe-Josh Groban

If you have seen the classic Christmas movie, The Polar Express, you are sure to have heard of this song. It is heartfelt and will bring tears to your eyes. Josh Groban is a well known singer and has many famous songs but this one is certainly a personal favorite.

  • Baby it’s Cold Outside-Zooey Deschanel and Leon Redbone

Many people don’t recognize actress Zooey Deschanel as a singer, but she certainly displayed her talent in the classic Christmas movie, Elf. This version of “Baby it’s Cold Outside” identifies her as a double threat for being both a fantastic actress and singer.

  • Shake Up Christmas-Train

This song by Train is played for a brief 30 seconds as background music on a Coke commercial, but if you take the time to listen to the whole thing, you’ll find out that it’s a great, upbeat, Christmas tune.

  • Last Christmas-Taylor Swift

This song is a classic, just like Taylor Swift. Her whole Christmas album is wonderful, but this is by far her best cover of the classic Christmas songs on the album. Taylor adds her own style to the melody, and really manages to spice it up.

  • Feliz Navidad-Jose Feliciano

This is a well known Spanish tune which is sure to be a hit on any Christmas playlist. Its chorus consists of the phrase “Feliz navidad, prospero año y felicidad” which, when translated to english, means “Happy Christmas, prosperous New Year, and happiness.”

  • Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town-Bruce Springsteen

“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” may seem like a rather childish Christmas song, but Bruce Springsteen’s version is perfect for all ages. As he does with all of his songs, he knocks it out of the park, making it a Christmas favorite.

  • Mistletoe-Justin Bieber

Even though I truly hate Justin Bieber, I love this song. Just try to listen to it and pretend it isn’t him singing it, and you’ll be all set. The lyrics are sweet and fun, making it a perfect addition to your playlist.

  • The Christmas Song-Nat King Cole

“And though it’s been said, many times, many ways, Merry Christmas too you.” The number one classic Christmas song never gets old when Nat King Cole is singing it. If you’re looking for an entertaining parody, go on YouTube and search “Chipmunks Roasting on an Open Fire,” you’ll be in for quite a surprise and a good laugh.

  • Do They Know it’s Christmas-Band Aid

Finally, my personal favorite Christmas song. This song is beautiful and inspirational, featuring heartwarming lyrics and great harmonies. It has been recorded 3 times in: 1989, 2004, and 2014. The first two versions’ profits went to famine relief in Ethiopia and the last went to aid the Ebola crisis. It is a great song, and definitely worth spending that $1.29 for on iTunes as it will help such a good cause.

I hope your Christmas will be merry and bright and full of great music!
