As most of the people in the Nashoba community are aware, on July 21st Ari Schultz, a 5 year old boy from Stow, passed away after a long battle of heart problems throughout his life. The impact he made not only on our community but on the whole Boston area and even the country is impossible to be measured. ESPN’s special feature story program called E:60 featured the Schultz family and told the story of Ari on September 3, in a feature called “Lionheart”.  There are currently clips of the feature on Ari’s Facebook fan page that is continuing to be run by his family. Ari’s father also wrote a Facebook post about the production of the feature story, saying that the ESPN team spent 2 days with the Schultz family while Ari was still alive, and then after his tragic passing, continued to work on telling his story with the consent of Ari’s parents. They did interviews with Mike and Erica Schultz and followed the family to Fenway Park on August 27th where they honored Ari’s memory by taking the field for him.Ari passed a little more than a month before he was scheduled to throw out the first pitch at Fenway. Erica, Ari’s mother, threw out the first pitch in his honor.

In case you missed it, Ari’s story is available to watch on the ESPN app or on the Watch Espn website (http://www.espn.com/watch/collections/920/e-60). You do have to sign in with your information of your cable provider, but the video is worth the watch. It is sad, yet uplifting and helps us remember the brave little boy who touched all of our lives.
