This past Tuesday, the POTUS gave his first major speech to the United Nations. Among many topics, Trump highlighted the danger that is North Korea, who has been threatening the world with their nuclear missiles.

On September 19th, President Trump spoke at the United Nations about the apparent threat of North Korea and their nuclear bombs. In Trump’s speech he highlighted the threat of North Korea, saying, “The U.S. has great strength and patience but if it is forced to defend itself or its allies, we will have no choice but to totally destroy North Korea”. The bombs that North Korea plans to launch would destroy not only the United States, but also the world. Trump went on to criticize countries who continue to fraternize with the North Korean government. While addressing the crowd at the U.N, Trump criticized “Rocket Man”, who is North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, saying his nuclear arsenals are “a suicide mission for himself and his regime”, should the bombs hurt the United States or any of its allies.

The President brought up the unfortunate incident of Otto Warmbier, who was a college student who faced the abuse of North Korea and died this past summer. Trump promoted cooperation and alliances of the United Nations to help defend countries, should North Korea launch a nuclear bomb. Trump says, “the United States is ready, willing, and able, but hopefully this will not be necessary. That’s what the United Nations is all about. That’s what the United Nations is for. Let’s see how they do”.

Trump closed his speech on an uplifting note of unity saying, “this is the ancient wish of every people and the deepest yearning that lives inside every sacred soul. So let this be our mission, and let this be our message to the world. We will fight together, sacrifice together, and stand together for peace, for freedom, for justice, for family, for humanity, and for the almighty God who made us all”.
